It is fun to learn more about so many of the worlds most beloved culinary ingredients, such as cucumbers or crumpets, as well as rare items rarely seen outside their homelands, such as cape gooseberries and churpi yak cheese.

I wanted more “food” from this in terms of meals and dishes. The most beautiful book on foods. Well worth owning for antea gourmand or adventure eater. Each entry features authoritative yet opinionated descriptions as well as anecdotes about the producers or the region ensuring that this book will have wide appeal to connoisseurs and novices alike. I was shocked at how much there was that I had never heard of before.
