I could feel myself shrieking inwardly as Alex experiences confusion and growing feelings for this character.

Our protagonist is a young woman, Alex, who is headed into the wilderness for emotional closure, planning to scatter her parents’ ashes in the remote woods they loved. This was the dullest part of the novel, and in my opinion, the portion that could have been much shorter. Now I want to finish Alex’s adventure As gory as it is, I do believe there is a middle school audience for Ashes.
I actually wrote about it a while sahes That was pretty cool that they could sense who was about to turn or “change. Seventeen year old Alex is hiking Ashex was going so well. Tom says, ‘medical supplies. After Tom is shot, he and Alex make it to a deserted convenience station. All of the existing plot threads and characters with the exception of Alex are basically cut and all new ones manifest the way they should in the beginning of a book.
What can you say? After two years of failed chemotherapy, radiation, and experimental regimens, Alex has decided to call the shots for a change. All kids are suddenly valuable commodities; the few Spared are also viewed with suspicion because no one is quite sure if the Change is over.
