Bill Hybels does a great job of sharing leadership principles that are unforgettable and ones I wish I would have applied in the past. I’ve listened to hundreds of hours of his material and count him among those who’ve influenced my thinking. This is a book worth many times its retail price; the many many gems gleamed from years of experience and the related tears and pain are now available through an extremely engaging presentation.
It’s a great resource of leadership insights from a great leader.
This is a book full of modern day proverbs or Axioms that Bill Hybels has learned in his ministry with Willow Creek. There’s a lot to like about this book.
An exellent book that I truly enjoyed. Nov 14, Emil Bredahl rated it it was amazing. Each proverb basically stands on its own, so there isn’t a connecting theme throughout the book. If you wish for a resource that is simple and succinct, this book would be ideal.

Since my first encounter with Hybels aroundI’ve been a student and fan. This is in my Top 5 of all-time favorite leadership aziom.

Book Review: Axiom By Bill Hybels
I walked right past this on the book table, thinking Hybels had run out of things to say and settled on rehashing little tidbits. Jan 11, Chris rated it really liked it Shelves: If I were responsible for staff management at a church, it would be a must-read during any new staffer’s probationary period as well as a year’s worth of ice-breakers in our staff meetings. Hybels writing style is not enjoyable.
Books on my shelf waiting to be read: Though readable, it’s often boring. I’m sure a pastor or some other person actually in leadership at the church might have a completely different view.
I thought it would be just “ok”. Want to Read saving…. Utilizing contemporary music, the arts, relevant teaching from the Bible, and a small-groups community focus that has revolutionized how people experience community in the local church, Willow Hybel has grown to more than 25, attendees, one of the largest churches in North America—and one of the most influential.
I do realize that there has been some controversy with Bill Hybels and his leadership recently. Powerful Leadership Proverbs is a poorly named, but otherwise good book.

Bill Hybels is a church leader so he writes from the perspective of leading churches and worldwide ministries however, his insights are applicable for leadership in all areas.
