I was especially interested in the typography of graphics, and the book doesn’t seem to give this topic much attention. Shaoliang Nie rated it it was amazing Jul 25, The author asks many of the important questions: Apparently this book is one of the classics of the subject, but I found it surprisingly confusing.
The fact that the title uses an uncommon, academic sounding word should be a hint graphixs the whole book grxphics kind of like that.
Some of the pictures are neat, and it does make you think about things like which dimension of graphical differentiation to use to display data, but I don’t think I’ll be using this book much for guidance.
