I’m going to paraphrase Dahlia the heroine in Blindsided: Sometimes it felt like the pushes in the time line where too rushed and a bit of filler could have been used. Additionally, I appreciated the fact that although it was acknowledged that Norris and Dahlia are a mixed race couple and that can present some challenges, there wasn’t an unnecessary emphasis put on their races.
Their relationship was certainly a rocky one, but one that seemed meant to be. It was a fun read.
The reader will see the female character overcome her insecurities about a commitment to men. What I loved about the book were the witty exchanges between Norris and Reese. Playing catch-up parenting to a sixteen-year-old daughter, who is not the least bit thrilled with his prior absence in her life, and trying to convince a headstrong Dahlia that she is the only woman for him, is proving to be harder than he thought.
