Thanks once again Andy and Eric for spending your valuable time in helping me. Neil Doesn’t the Datasheet tell you this? Read-Only Author erik malund Posted 3-Jul The following is a flash write function from the drivers.

It looks this is confusing. So the 16th bit will give idea about the sign of the bit. Neil Posted 2-Jul Please clear my doubt or tell me the link to the data sheet you are referring. Neil Posted 5-Jul Once again thanking you all.

Replied Jun 152: Read-Only Author erik malund Posted 5-Jul I really dont know which controller you are talking about. RTFM erik malund the ‘header’ say so, but I can find nodocumentation in the datasheet proper. ADC in F A. Neil “The 16th bit will be used for the sign bit.

The address is from 0x to 0xF as stated in the datasheet. So I think the 16th bit will be used as the sign bit. In both cases, a 1 in the “sign” bit indicates a negative number – but the way that works with the other 15 bits is different This site uses cookies to store information on your computer.

But I am talking about 16 bit ADC in vatasheet mode. What more do you want? The data is in 2’s complement. Neil Do you understand the difference datasheef having a sign bit plus 15 magnitude datasehet, and having a bit 2’s complement value?

Thank you for your help. How am I supposed to write to an address within the scratchpad memory when the input to the write function is of type UINT, which means I can only go as high as 0xFFFF, range from 0 c8051g060 ?

If you got an idea please inform me.

But I am not sure. But datasheet doesnt tells about the sign bit. If you read the datasheet on page you could try to use only the 2 bytes address to see if it helps.

But the datasheet says that the output data is in 15bits for a differential mode. If you have not I suggest you take a look at the AN document and the example code. We cant measure negative voltage in single ended mode. Community 8-bit MCU Forum.

Doesn’t that answer the question? If anybody worked on this microcontroller, please tell me how to get the sign bit.?

What would I have to do to “decode” the linear address to obtain the device address, as the function description implies? I am using CF microcontroller.
