What I have done so far is to open “image cqnon – the photo to be copied appears in the image window – but the scan button won’t highlight.
The alternative approach has been to select the scan option on the Canon – but nothing happens! Anyone with any ideas?
All replies Drop Down menu. I haven’t used the Image Capture software you mentioned as I scan directly through a driver in PhotoShop. This works fine for me. The first thing I’d suggest is checking you have the latest versions of the Canon software. Presuming you’re based in the US, try Canon’s site [here http: M610 see some have been updated this summer already.

It took me a while to figure it out – not to mention surfing the web for a bunch of sites all with people writing about the same problem. I downloaded the latest driver, checked all the cables, hit every support website I mp60 find, etc. I’m assuming that you figured out the problem by now, it’s kind of silly. But YOU still have to go to the image and select what you want to scan.
When you place your cursor on the image and then click and drag, you’re capturing the area that you want scanned. When you do this you will see all the dimensions of the scan area captured in the Scan Setup box to the right of the image.
You can manually go in and change the dimensions to match the material your scanning 8×10, 4×6, 8. Once you get it figured out it works pretty slick.
Unfortunately the directions aren’t very obvious and the interface on the cann is a bit misleading. Hope this works for you and anyone else who suffered this issue. Apple Pay Speciality level out of ten: It works with tons of scanners. Your Canon MP is on the list of supported scanners. It has a free trail period to see if you like it. Scanning doesn’t seem to work over WIFI. This took me a while to figure out Image capture software works fine – just open it up when the printer is connected or it may open by itself.

Per the point above – you need to physically select with your mouse the area of the now that you wish to scan – this will “enable” the Scan button.
Ignore the scan controls on the printer itself – they do not appear to be relevant to scanning to a connected Mac. The scan is initiated from the software on your Mac. Ask a question Reset.
