I had forgotten just how complete of a reference this book is. This book is a bit dated now and I think it leans heavily toward electric six string guitars, but it is still an excellent introduction to the instrument: View all 5 comments.

These sections detail how each instrument acous tic and electric are put together, how to set the action, the various types of each style of guitar, how pick-ups are put together, etc. Being your own guitar tech not only strengthens your relationship with guitr guitar, but it helps avoid being spoken to condescendingly by a baby boomer with a grey ponytail, which is one of my pet peeves.

It is also a comprehensive manual on guitar hardware and performance technology, sound equipment, special effects, and recording facilities. This dictionary is very helpful to the player when giitar to find the same chord denyef to know where it is elsewhere on the fret board. Sorry if I didn’t send you a copy. The final section deals with the maintenance of the guitar.

Perhaps the section on pioneering guitarists could be expanded to include a few more names, and perhaps there are better books to use if you are starting playing from gutiar such as the ones that include CDs etcbut all in all very complete. The Guitar Handbook is really too modest of a title for how much information this book contains. Lots of good chord and scale denyeg for those of us that need quick reference.
