BUT, it was worth the time to read chapter four as it has been of great use, and on that score I think the book is worth owning if only by virtue of buying it used. For example, readers of historical fiction and science fiction expect a lot of emphasis on setting, while readers of mainstream fiction and thrillers do not.

I felt the concepts of “sensory description” and “showing and telling” are vital to the writing process, so for me to feel those were the weakest chapters made this a difficult book to read.
