For anyone who has ever been a fan of the religions of yore you’ll be enthralled with Applegate’s world of aliens and gods. A trip to the underworld and a return to Norse mythology means that Reapet a little subjectively predisposed to enjoy this book. People assume it’s an African name.

Five was four too many. The disease doesn’t follow him into Everyworld though. A second later he was this racist jerkwad.
The obsession was alive in my head once again. Although my favorite line comes at the end of this book.
Project Everworld: Book #4 Realm of the Reaper
It reminded me of Land of Loss in the sense that you experie In Realm of the Reaper, we continue our journey through Everworld through the eyes of Jalil, the logical, level headed, and OCD science wiz. This is one of the books I remembered most clearly, both because Hel is so horrifying, and also because Jalil is unique.
I am want to see how he begins to rethink his two worlds. He was managing to make clear our dislike for Senna while nevertheless treating her as part of our group. This book was probably my first exposure to real OCD in a fictional character, too, so I appreciate Applegate dealing with it. Here she is very similar to the mythology version. Hel, the daughter of Loki, is terrorizing men with her half living and seductive body, half rotting zombie body–because she has an enchantment that forces them to be attracted to her even as they’re disgusted by her.
