Bertie often makes literary allusions. Aunt Julia, happy to see Danby, is suddenly friendly rather than aristocratic. There I was alone in a strange city and no signs of Gussie. The Adventures of Sally. By the time he reached the refrain I was nearly in tears.

Concerned about the family’s prestige, Aunt Agatha does not want Gussie to marry a vaudeville performer like his late father did, though Gussie’s mother Julia learned to be aristocratic. I left Jeeves to get my baggage safely past an aggregation of suspicious-minded pirates who were digging for buried treasures among my new shirts, and drove to Gussie’s extricaging, where I requested the squad of gentlemanly clerks behind the desk to produce him.

Not sure about the saintly looking Plum photo though. They then pay a call on the girl’s father, Mr Joe Danby, who turns out to have known and loved Julia in her music-hall days.
The difference between the two is that Aunt Agatha conveys the impression gusske she considers me personally responsible for all the sin and sorrow in the world, while Aunt Julia’s manner seems to suggest that I am more to be pitied than censured.
