These two stories eventually meet but the trip to the junction is strewn with Banks’ beautiful prose and nail-biting descriptions. We do indeed have exposed sex, unexpurgated violence and a Thatcherite setting. That said it had a few issues for me. To what extent are we complicit in what happens to us?
