He is editing for Penguin a fifteen-volume series called The Story of Indian Business, of which ten have appeared. The ideas in the book are lucidly explained in short chapters. India Uhbound Gandhi, for a much more measured and detailed analysis of the political and social changes afterbut this book holds an important place as well, if not for its comprehensiveness or attention to details then at least for being a paean for the great India middle Class.

He has written the book in an autobiographical style, reflecting upon the policies of the government like a common man might feel when he reads inbound the policy by the leaders.

About India Unbound India today is a vibrant free-market democracy, a nation well on its way to overcoming decades of widespread poverty. Not a perfect book by any means, in particular the rail against Socialist policies of Nehru and the single pointed demonizing of the Indian bureaucracy seem a little simplistic and one-sided.


Something tremendous is happening in India, and Das, with his keen eye and often elegant prose, has his finger firmly on the pulse of the transformation. Overall the book is very readable and Interesting and I will suggest this book to anyone who wants to know about liberalization in simple words of successful manager in the Socialist India.
