I do have to say, however, that there is a case that kept me from understanding this long ago. I just feel like it is something extra and don’t know what is it. There is no PCB artwork in this doc.

I ended up just using my design board for both standalone mode and SPI mode. Well it’s not the end of the world writing your own driver but how can they say it’s SPI interface if it’s not one of the 4 known SPI modes? After a long delay I am back working with the ISD17xxx series and finally having some luck.
I have been “out” for a while and have not seen your request. Still absolutely no response from the ISD unfortunately, but I’m confident the program is correct now. For a product I’m developing I allow the user to pass a message 0 to N ; I then find the beginning of memory, count EOMs to find the message, then set the end address to the end of memory.
If you can not retrieve the Device ID, well, keep trying. For hardware SPI, you can reverse the bits by calling a routine before you send data to the chip, and datqsheet you receive it. I’m sending 0x09 for Device ID, which is followed by 1 blank byte and the third byte holds the device ID information, but I’m getting nothing but back in the third byte.
But it did take the effort to write and post my initial forum submission. Hope you don’t feel irritating that I keep asking the stupid question.
Almost like reading a quote from my posting! Good news is their ‘design notes’ PDF dstasheet very well documented so you might only have to make 2 pots of coffee to get it up and running. It datasheer flash once for you – see the instructions in 8. Highlight the key question in each rule so you can easily and quickly scan over them as you debug.
Funny how I ran into my old Isd17400 forums while looking for insight into using the 17xxx chipcorder on SPI! Thank you so much. Below are links that I found helpful. But I also have some questions and problems to resolve in getting other commands to function properly and getting multiple commands to work together.

I’m so curious about this way AnalIn However, this section may be a simple test to answer your next question as to whether or not the ISD chip is good or defective. Maybe even upload onto the ‘working programs’ forum here, for others But nothing happen when I press any push button.
I have to go help build some boards but will look at this later in the afternoon. That’s exactly what I thought, but then I tested the output of SDO with my scope and there was nothing coming out. I just found a reference that said none of the 4 hardware SPI modes are compatible with the ISD chipcorders, is there a way to add a new mode to the current hardware SPI function that simply changes the order bits are sampled and such?
I wanted to get my bypass caps closer to the power pins than what I saw in the photo. I discovered that you need to make the changes shown in bold below: If you have not already checked the MART documentation, see their schematic on page 3. Tue Apr 26, 3: You do not have to build a programmer.
Comments 26 Comments sorted by Date Added Votes. In my app I want to play one of N segments that are stored in the device without knowing the specific address of that segment. Has anybody gotten any answers from Nuvoton, who now owns the ISD chip? I did make a programmer that worked successfully, but felt that I did not really have to do so.

Then they suggested that we redesign our product around one of their other chips. It was just easier for me to learn the standalone mode first, then the SPI mode with the assembly programming of the SX I like to see the bits — every one of them! This made referencing very easy. It is a challenging chip. As for the section 7 in datasheet analog path configuration, actually is it related to SPI?
Building the programmer gave me a chance to check out my design.
Just to confirm it. Actually we need to modify the circuit? Please give me some information about that, with standalone mode only, because i can’t make on SPI mode more troubles in my schedule [noparse]: So the code Isf1740 wrote has everything you need to record and playback sounds of varying length.
