What makes it exceedingly demanding to pry into the interior meaning of this story is the fact that we have stream of consciousness in the mind of a dying person!!! About Katherine Anne Weayherall. It may also be important that for most of the story, despite the doctor being called and the priest coming to the house, Granny does not appear to accept that she is dying.
A woman who was left at the altar on her wedding day, and despite this strong despair she has gotten married and she has some children, yet she hallucinates about her previous love, she has not let in the grief and moved on. While I can have a deep regard for the author, my questions remain unanswered and I consider this story a shallow one!!!!!!!!!!!!
